Why the prostate speaks up after forty
The prostate keeps growing slowly through a man's life, and from his forties or fifties the change often shows up as more trips to the toilet, a slower start or waking at night. Most of the time the cause is benign, but the same signs can hide something that needs a doctor.
That matters here: prostate cancer is the cancer most often diagnosed in Kenyan men, with about 3,600 new cases recorded in 2022, while local studies put screening uptake at somewhere between 4 and 11 percent.
